With just a week to go before the biggest meeting of the year for Outlaw F2s at the Norfolk venue the booking list shows a hugely impressive 26 names. This is the largest turnout the track will have seen in several years, with drivers from almost all Outlaw tracks and promotions represented. 856 Paul Webb will be defending the title he won in 2019 (the weekender being run as the Norfolk Championship in 2020, a title which Webb also won!) and headlines a strong entry list with a now-customary large entry of visiting Standlake drivers.

There are a number of drivers likely to challenge Webb for the gold, with 2020 Southern Points Champion 105 Louis Williams amongst those likely to start as favourite. With 5 race wins across 3 tracks so far this season, he has the proven pace to be a serious contender for the win.

Regular Swaffham visitors 352 Andy and 421 Gary Webb are both surprisingly yet to win a race this season but are always up near the front in the results, and with previous wins at Swaffham it would not be a surprise at all for either to come away with the victory.
Ringwood registered 72 Chris Langridge and 150 John Enright
are set to make their first Swaffham appearances of the season, although they
both have wins at the track to their name from previous visits so should be
expected to be right there in the mix over the weekend. They will be joined by another pair of former
RTS racers in the shape of 82 Steve Rickard - another with wins around Swaffham
to his name and likely to provide a strong challenge – and 12 Vince Foley who
has plenty of experience at the track but has yet to race in 2021 so far.

Other notable visitors include the long-distance pairing of
92 John Hogg and 250 Kyle Taylor. While
they might be making their first ever appearance at the track, both drivers
cannot be discounted as they have been quick around their local Barford this
season and Hogg has taken a win at Standlake previously, showing he can hold
his own on the Southern tracks. 420 Ade
Baker and 716 Jim Muckian are further race winners in 2021 set to make their
track debuts. Baker won the opening race
of the year at Standlake and Muckian has been rapid in the wet at the
Oxfordshire circuit this season but can equally turn out wins in the dry and
both will be looking to be right up at the front come Sunday.
Six further drivers complete the visiting Standlake
entry. 185 Jess Webb already has 2 wins
to her name this season and has looked quick in previous Swaffham outings, so will
be another to watch out for. 82 Keith
and 821 Linz Richens will make their 2nd visit to the track this
season after enjoying their last trip back in May. Keith has several podium finishes to his name
this season at his native Standlake and has looked impressive in his new car
but may be hampered by a lack of experience on the Norfolk tarmac. 509 Jordan Butcher is another with a race win
to his name this season and alongside father 508 Terry qualified on the 2nd
row at last year’s Norfolk Championship meeting, so both will fancy their
chances of a repeat this season.
Finally, 623 Rob Dobie has struggled for luck at times this season but
has enough experience at Swaffham to put in a strong performance.
Swaffham’s two previous meetings this year have seen final
wins for 563 Keith Walding and the returning 277 Billy Banwell. Neither driver however can make the Saturday
meeting due to prior commitments, so will have to earn their place on the grid
from the back of Sunday’s fourth heat.
While both drivers have the speed around Swaffham to challenge, their
grid positions for the main race are likely to prove a difficult obstacle to
overcome in their bid for the win.
Completing the entry are 346 Anthony Warne; making a first
outing since March 2020 as part of the Andrew Warne memorial race on the Sunday
and a rare appearance for 394 Ken Edwards.
138 Gary Tweddle is hoping to make the long journey down from his
Lancashire base to make his first appearance at Swaffham. Spedeworth converts 253 Charlie and 254 Harry
Heffer plan to make their Swaffham debut at the RTS meeting this Saturday to
get some track time in ahead of their first full Outlaw meeting at the
weekender, while 33 Dan Milne could be another Superstox on the grid, the
newcomer hoping to have his self-built car out on track for the Sunday.
The Andrew Warne Memorial GN on the Sunday will see a £50 prize fund to the winner, while the rest of the meeting will have £150 prize money split across the races, so there is plenty up for grabs over the course of the weekend.
