25 cars were in attendance for the 3rd outing of the season at Standlake. Grimley racer 502 Ryan Weston made his track debut, there were first appearances of the season for 109 Stuart Biddle and 242 Mick Jackson, along with 42 Ash Greening, 252 Izzy Jackson and 245 Kyle Broadway amongst the more regular Grimley visitors.

With the usual 2/3rds format in place, 15 cars took to the track for heat 1. 253 Charlie Heffer got the jump on 542 Martin Chard to lead into turn 1, while 210 Patrick Somerton passed 623 Rob Dobie for 4th into the same corner. Later in the lap 185 Jess Webb gained on 776 James Trigg on turn 3 for 6th, as 856 Paul Webb passed Greening up the inside on turn 4 to move into 9th.
The following lap Greening retook 9th from Paul Webb as Chard pulled up on the back straight with electrical problems. Trigg moved Jess Webb wide on turn 3 to move into 5th while Dobie passed Somerton on the exit of turn 2 to climb into 3rd. Jess Webb then lost out to 352 Andy Webb down the back straight for 6th place as Trigg passed Somerton on turn 3, leaving the latter open to a move from Andy Webb on turn 4 as the 210 car dropped to 6th.
Greening and Paul Webb continued to swap places almost every lap, as Trigg reeled in Dobie and moved him wide on turn 1 for 3rd, the 623 car went wide enough to allow Andy Webb and Somerton through at the same time. Dobie then slipped down to 10th later in the lap as several others gained on turn 3 after Jess Webb made a move on Dobie. 66 Henry Breakspear then moved into the top 10 as he passed Dobie, while Paul Webb again passed Greening on the home straight as the pair fought over 6th position.
716 Jim Muckian gained on Somerton on turn 2 as Greening once again passed Paul Webb and Breakspear gained on Jess Webb for 9th. Muckian then continued his progress as he passed Greening for 5th. Paul Webb reeled in Somerton into turn 1 as Trigg took 2nd from Broadway on turn 3, the move left the 245 car under attack from Andy Webb and Muckian as the pair came through for 3rd and 4th respectively.
The following lap Trigg took the lead as he passed Heffer on the back straight, with the latter then losing out to Andy Webb and Muckian around turns 3 and 4. Jess Webb passed Somerton for 9th as Greening reeled in Broadway for 5th on turn 2 and then Heffer on turn 4. As the laps ticked down Webb closed right in on Trigg and was able to put the bumper in on the final bend, but was unable to displace the 776 car, allowing Trigg through for his first win of the season ahead of Andy Webb and Muckian.

137 Steve Goldup was another to retire early with running problems as Somerton passed Broadway on turn 3 for 4th and James Trigg gained on Izzy Jackson around turn 4. Muckian moved Williams wide on turn 1 for 8th as Trigg passed Broadway and Phil Trigg came under attack from Somerton and James Trigg, dropping the 521 car to 5th.
Greening then latched onto the back of Muckian going into turn 3 and followed the 716 car into the fence on turn 4, ending Muckian’s race and dropping Greening right down to 11th in the process. Broadway and Greening then gained on Phil Trigg a lap later on turn 4 as 155 Carl Lewis moved ahead of Gary Webb into turn 1. The following lap saw Somerton up into 2nd as he passed Moores on turn 1, but then got out of shape on turn 2 and spun out with assistance from Moores.
Jackson and 535 Ryan Stoodley gained on James Trigg for 3rd and 4th respectively, before inheriting another place each as Moores dropped out of 2nd with problems and was another forced into retirement. Williams picked off James Trigg on turn 2 for 4th, with the 776 car under attack from Greening shortly afterwards on turn 4 and then Lewis on turn 1 to drop to 7th.
As the lapboards came out Greening moved Williams wide for 4th, although he was another to retire on the following lap. Jackson closed the gap on Heffer as Broadway crashed out on the back straight and was left with steering damage. Lewis moved ahead of Williams for 4th on the final lap as Heffer had a good final lap and kept enough of a gap back to Jackson in 2nd to take his second win of the season (his first at Standlake) with Stoodley completing the top 3.

Lewis was an early spinner on turn 4 after being helped around by Gary Webb and Paul Webb also spun at the same time with a puncture forcing him into retirement. Stoodley gained on Chard for 3rd as Andy Webb passed Richens and Williams bested Dobie for 9th. Goldup and Izzy Jackson were next to retire, while Richens moved ahead of Chard on turn 3 and Breakspear passed Gary Webb into turn 1.
Progress continued for the 66 car as he reeled in Dobie on turn 3 to move into 9th while Jess Webb passed Stoodley to move into 3rd, before spinning on turn 2 and dropping several places down the order. Andy Webb then gained on Stoodley for 3rd on turn 4. Breakspear and Gary Webb picked off Chard for 8th and 9th respectively before Richens lost out to Williams into turn 1 for 5th.
5 laps from the end Andy Webb claimed 2nd from Moores on the back straight, before Stoodley moved ahead of the 101 car half a lap later. Lewis passed Chard for 10th as he looked to make up places following his earlier spin. Jess Webb claimed 6th from Richens with 2 laps left as Williams left it til the last bend to move ahead of Moores for 4th, but out front Harry Heffer was unchallenged and came through for his 2nd win of the year ahead of Andy Webb and Stoodley.

Stoodley then slowed up and dropped out of the race while Lewis picked off Richens on turn 3 and Moores took the lead from Harry Heffer into turn 1. The latter then lost out to Charlie Heffer for 2nd on turn 3, allowing Phil Trigg and Breakspear to gain in the process for 2nd and 3rd. Williams bested Paul Webb for 9th on turn 3 while Lewis picked off Biddle for 5th and Somerton spun on turn 4.
Lewis then gained on Harry Heffer for 4th on the home straight, before Greening moved ahead of the 254 on turn 3 later in the same lap. Breakspear retired from 3rd as Phil Trigg lost 2nd to Lewis and Greening on turn 1. Muckian moved by Biddle on turn 3 to sit 7th, before the former tangled with Phil Trigg on turn 2 and sent the both of them into the fence and out of the race.
Greening snatched 2nd from Lewis after Moores had lost the lead to Charlie Heffer and slipped back to 4th. Greening then made his move for the lead on turn 4, with Lewis following him through into 2nd on turn 1 as Heffer dropped into 3rd. Moores’ engine let go on turn 4 and he was forced out of the race, while Williams passed Harry Heffer on turn 2 before the pair were involved in a 5 car incident along with Paul, Gary and Andy Webb. Heffer was forced into retirement with damage, while the latter pair of Webb brothers were slowed.
This shook up the race order and now left Williams 4th ahead of Paul and Jess Webb. Gary Webb managed to claw his way back to 8th as he passed Dobie and Biddle right at the death. Up front the top 3 remained unchanged and with Greening holding a decent lead he took his 2nd final win of the season ahead of Lewis and Charlie Heffer.

The final race of the day raised 18 cars and Broadway took the lead into turn 1 ahead of Chard and Somerton. Izzy Jackson passed Dobie for 4th as Muckian gained on Andy Webb and Williams on the opening lap to sit 9th. Jackson then moved ahead of Chard on the home straight as Somerton took the lead from Broadway on turn 3.
Dobie lost out to Jess Webb on turn 2 for 5th, before the latter passed Chard into turn 3 and was followed through by Muckian on turn 4; the 716 car making some good early progress and moving up into 5th. Williams and Andy Webb then gained on Chard on the back straight as Jess Webb moved inside Broadway on turn 3, although the pair were both bested by Muckian shortly afterwards.
Jackson took the lead from Somerton as Broadway lost 8th to Paul Webb and Greening broke into the top 10 as he passed James Trigg and then Broadway around turns 3 and 4. Somerton slipped to 4th as Jess Webb and Williams moved him wide on turns 1 and 2, with Williams snatching 3rd from Webb shortly afterwards. Greening passed Paul Webb on turn 4 to move into 8th. Somerton then spun on turn 3 to drop out of 6th place, which promoted James Trigg back up into the top 10. Greening shoved Gary Webb wide on turn 1 to sit 6th as Andy Webb bested Williams on the back straight for 3rd.
In the final couple of laps Greening made moves on Jess Webb and Williams respectively into the first turn as he climbed up into 4th by the finish, but the front 3 were unchanged as Muckian found himself unable to close the gap to Jackson, which allowed her to take her first win of the season; Andy Webb completing the top 3.
