255 JOSHUA HEFFER ALSO MADE HIS TRACK DEBUT

346 Antony Warne made only his 2nd visit from Swaffham while Grimley-based 242 Mick Jackson's outing was his first at Ringwood in 12 months alongside regular visitors, defending Southern champion 299 Will Jackson and 681 Ollie Holford.

346 ANTHONY WARNE MADE HIS 2ND RINGWOOD VISIT
OF THE SEASON, COMPLETE WITH NEW CAR

The first of 2 graded order qualifying heats saw all cars on track, with 593 Matt Boddington getting the best start to lead into turn 1 ahead of Joshua Heffer and 756 Ryan Mulley, as Warne dropped back from 2nd to 4th on the opening corner.  Will Jackson and 150 John Enright got the better of 421 Gary Webb on turn 4 as Hall pulled off on the first lap and unfortunately would not be seen again for the remainder of the meeting.

594 Dan Boddington gained on Warne as 86 Adam Huxtable spun on turn 2 and 856 Paul Webb bested brother Gary.  105 Louis Williams tangled with John Enright on turn 4, forcing the latter out of the race with a puncture.  253 Charlie and 254 Harry Heffer passed Warne for 4th and 5th respectively as 295 Leo Freebody slowed to a halt on the back straight.  Holford gained on Warne down the home straight to move into 8th as the 346 car slipped back several places.

Harry Heffer passed Mulley for 4th on turn 2 as Joshua Heffer took the lead from Matt Boddington into turn 1.  151 Andy Enright gained on 280 Pete Webb on turn 1 for what was now 7th as Holford passed Mulley on turn 2 to move 5th.  Boddington retook the lead from Heffer with the 255 car then losing out to Charlie Heffer a lap later to slip down into 3rd.  Paul passed Pete Webb on turn 1 for 8th as Charlie took the lead from Boddington on turn 3.

Andy Enright moved Will Jackson wide on turn 3 to take 6th as Foley was a spinner on turn 2.  Harry Heffer passed Boddington for 2nd, with Holford also gaining on the 593 car to move into 3rd.  Holford then snatched 2nd from Harry Heffer on turn 1, with Enright and Jackson also passing the 254 car on turn 2.  Jackson then retook the place from Enright before losing it back again a lap later.  Holford took the lead from Charlie Heffer on turn 2 as Williams made a move back into the top 10, passing 595 Jack Boddington late on for 8th.  This is how things were to end as Holford took his 4th win of the season ahead of Charlie Heffer and Andy Enright.

Result: 681, 253, 151, 299, 254, 856, 280, 105, 595, 255

681 OLLIE HOLFORD CONTINUED HIS RECENT
RINGWOOD FORM WITH VICTORY IN HEAT 1

21 cars were back out for heat 2 as Joshua Heffer led the field from Mulley and Warne on the opening lap, while Matt Boddington went into the fence on turn 1.  Andy Enright passed Will Jackson on turn 1 and then reeled in Pete Webb on turn 2.  Dan Boddington gained on Warne on turn 3 to move into 3rd, before losing out to Harry and Charlie Heffer into turn 1 at the start of the next lap.

Enright continued his strong start as he worked his way up to 4th, having picked off Holford and then avoiding a spinning Charlie Heffer on the back straight.  Paul Webb passed Jack Boddington on turn 1 for 7th before getting the better of Holford on turn 3, as Jack lost out to Williams and John Enright passed Warne on turn 1 and Pete Webb on turn 2.

Harry Heffer then lost out to Andy Enright on turn 4, with Will Jackson also gaining on the 254 car into turn 1 before Jack Boddington spun on turn 4 and was collected by Huxtable, who in turn was hit by Matt Boddington - ripping the rear wheel off of the 86 car and bringing out the red flags.

Leader Joshua Heffer pulled off just before the green flag dropped with a lose air filter, which allowed Mulley to inherit first place.  He was passed by Enright into turn 1 and then Harry Heffer on turn 2 as Holford was spun by Williams on turn 1.  Mulley continued to drop back as he was passed by Will Jackson and Paul Webb on turn 3 for 3rd and 4th respectively.  Jackson then bested Heffer for 2nd as Pete Webb picked off Mulley around turn 3 and John Enright moved Paul Webb wide on turn 2.

With 2 laps remaining Foley passed Charlie Heffer for 6th as Harry Heffer gained 9th from Holford.  Jackson and John Enright closed the gap on the leading 151 car right down but were unable to make a last bend challenge, seemingly allowing Enright to take his 9th win of the season.  However, Enright's engine died as he exited turn 4 and Jackson and John Enright were able to capitalise and snatch 1st and 2nd right at the death as the 151 car managed to hold on to 3rd.  Upon return to the pits, it seems that an ECU problem was to blame.

Result: 299, 150, 151, 856, 280, 12, 253, 756, 254, 681

DEFENDING CHAMPION 299 WILL JACKSON PUT HIMSELF
IN A STRONG POSITION WITH A HEAT 2 WIN

The final was to be run in points order following the 2 heats, however some confusion with the grid saw the race line up as follows:

151    253
681    280
254    756
595    105
299    150
856    12
255    593
258    242
594    295
421

Andy Enright got a strong start and led the field down the home straight and into turn 1 ahead of Charlie Heffer and Holford.  John Enright passed Williams on the back straight and then Harry Heffer shortly afterwards, with the latter 254 car also dropping a place to Williams.  Holford moved Charlie Heffer wide for 2nd on turn 4 before the 253 car spun a lap later on turn 3 after being helped around by Pete Webb.  This allowed John Enright up into 3rd with Williams dropping back and Will Jackson now into 4th.

Williams retook a place as he passed Jack Boddington for 9th, while Jackson claimed 3rd from John Enright as Foley spun on turn 1.  Enright went wide on turn 1 as Paul Webb moved inside to claim 4th while Enright was forced out of the race with another puncture.  The yellow flags then came out for the stranded 12 car, who was only just missed by leader Andy Enright as the pack slowed.

15 cars remained for the restart, with Andy Enright having the lapped car of Charlie Heffer behind his as a buffer back to 2nd placed Holford.  As the green flag dropped Harry Heffer passed Pete Webb for 5th on turn 4, with the latter also dropping a place to Williams.  The 105 car continued to make his way back through the field as he passed Heffer on the back straight, who also lost out to Pete Webb on turn 2 on the following lap.

Joshua Heffer reeled in Jack Boddington on the back straight to move into 8th as Mick Jackson passed 258 James Griggs to climb up into the top 10.  With 3 laps remaining Boddington retook the place from Joshua Heffer on turn 3 as the field started to spread further out and the race settled down.  On the final lap Williams moved Paul Webb wide on  turn 1 and took 4th, which was to be the only further change before the finish as Andy Enright took a flag-to-flag victory ahead of Holford and Will Jackson.

Result: 151, 681, 299, 105, 856, 280, 254, 595, 255, 242

NEW SOUTHERN CHAMPION - 151 ANDY ENRIGHT

Impressively 18 cars made it back out for the grand national, including Andy Enright from the lap handicap.  Warne took the early lead into turn 1, but was passed by Matt Boddington as the pair exited turn 2 and then dropped to 3rd as Mulley also gained down the back straight.  Gary Webb lost several places as he was picked off by Will Jackson, Williams and John Enright on the opening lap.

Charlie Heffer snatched 3rd from Warne as Mulley took over at the front from Boddington, who came under attack from Heffer on turn 2 as the 253 car moved up into 2nd.  John Enright moved ahead of Will Jackson on turn 3 as Harry Heffer also passed Matt Boddington for 3rd.  Enright and Jackson swapped places before Jackson was shoved wide on turn 1 and was out of the race after collecting the armco.  Andy Enright moved into the top 10 as he passed Gary Webb and then brother John on the back straight.

Charlie Heffer now took over out front as he passed Mulley, before Harry Heffer progressed up to 2nd on turn 1 as he too passed Mulley, while Matt and Jack Boddington swapped places with the latter taking 4th.  Williams and Paul Webb then reeled in the 593 car down the back straight for 5th and 6th respectively, before the pair moved ahead of Jack Boddington and then Mulley to now be 3rd and 4th.

John Enright was forced to retire again as Williams snatched 2nd from Harry Heffer and Andy Enright climbed into 6th passing Jack Boddington on turn 3.  Paul Webb then made a move on Heffer for 3rd down the back straight, while Andy Enright dived inside Mulley for 5th on the exit of turn 2, with the 756 car then spinning on the back straight.

Pete Webb gained on Matt Boddington for 7th on turn 3, with Griggs also passing the 593 car shortly afterwards on turn 1.  Enright's progress continued as he moved up to 4th ahead of Harry Heffer on turn 4 as Matt Boddington retired on the back straight, bringing out the yellow flags with 4 laps remaining.

On the restart Enright passed Paul Webb into turn 1 for 3rd as Williams snatched the lead from Charlie Heffer on the exit of turn.  The following lap saw Enright pull off the same move to pass Heffer for 2nd, while Warne passed Mick Jackson for 10th.  Williams had made enough of a gap out front that he wasn't able to be reeled in over the remaining laps and took his first win of the season ahead of Enright and Charlie Heffer.

Result: 105, 151, 253, 856, 254, 280, 595, 258, 421, 346
