Reports: F2 and beyond.

A fantastic showing of 22 cars were in the pits for the non-points season finale.   There were several Grimley visitors in the shape of 52 Jay Andrews, 681 Ollie Holford and 756 Ryan Mulley - the latter making his first visit of the season.   321 Maisie Emms made her debut in the ex Ben Farebrother car; there was a first Standlake appearance for 416 Dave Muckian, while H2 Don Pugh was in the hire car.   623 Rob Dobie also deserves a mention for being the only driver to attend every Standlake meeting in 2019. All 22 cars were on track for heat 1, although 138 Kevin Goldup pulled off before the start.   185 Jess Webb (using father Andy’s car) beat fellow pole-sitter 137 Steve Goldup into turn 1, as further back 776 James Trigg made a strong start from blue grade.   521 Phil Trigg passed Steve Goldup for 2 nd as Dave Muckian spun on turn 1 – quickly followed by Pugh. Another fantastic turnout of 20 cars in the pits for the Bonfire meeting in front of a decent crowd.   Among the entry were the visiting Grimley trio of 42 Ash Greening, 115 Ben Farebrother and 681 Ollie Holford – the latter making his first visit to Standlake.   There was an F2 debut for H1 Tracey Green in the Butcher hire car, a rare Standlake appearance for 797 Dan Moss and a surprise visit from 888 Simon Edwards from the northern Outlaws. There was plenty of focus on the pair of 155 Carl Lewis and 856 Paul Webb – both of whom stood a chance at winning the points championship and the right to wear the Gold roof – with only 16 points separating them and a possible 30 to play for. All 20 cars made it out for heat 1, with 185 Jess Webb getting the lead into turn 1.   623 Rob Dobie passed 521 Phil Trigg for 2 nd on lap 2, with 776 James Trigg making a fast start from the blue grade and moving into 3 rd passed 509 Jordan Butcher and Phil Trigg. A total of 16 cars contested the penultimate points-scoring meeting of the season, with the local attendance boosted by Grimley visitors 42 Ashley Greening and 115 Ben Farebrother. All cars on track for heat 1 and it was pole sitter 38 Gavin Busby who lead into turn 1, with 623 Rob Dobie passing 185 Jess Webb to take 2 nd , as further back Farebrother had made the best start from the middle of the red grade and set off chasing the rest of the pack. A couple of laps in and Dobie got the better exit on turn 2 and took the lead from Busby, with 53 Jamie Robson now behind the pair in 3 rd .   From the back of the field, 155 Carl Lewis was starting to make progress – passing 261 Roger Mountney and 509 Jordan Butcher to break into the top 10, as further forward Busby was passed by Greening and 53 Jamie Robson, with the former of the pair then moving Robson wide into turn 1 to move into 2 nd . Despite injuries and holidays ruling a few out, there were still 20 cars present for Standlake’s biggest meeting of the season.   The entry included two from Grimley in the shape of 45 Will Adams and 115 Ben Farebrother. 422 Paul Quick made the long trip up from the South West for a first outing since last years Open meeting, while 7 Liam Cornish made his first appearance of 2019 and there was an F2 debut for 26 Steve Turner. The format saw heat 1 drawn, with a reversed grid for heat 2 and then the Open final ran in points scoring order.   623 Rob Dobie drew pole alongside 352 Andy Webb and the pair headed a 20 car field for heat 1. Unfortunately, due to the torrential rain little can be said about the first race.   Andy Webb took a flag-to-flag victory, despite a late challenge from 516 Andrew Cornock who closed Webb down with 2 laps remaining, but in challenging for the lead ended up spinning himself on the exit of turn 4.   He performed a 360 and did manage ...

The final bank holiday meeting of the year raised an impressive 18 cars, with a visiting entry of 4 from Grimley that included 53 Jamie Robson making his first appearance of the season, while in the Butcher hire car there was a debut for H2 Jon Robson. With all cars on track for heat 1, 45 Will Adams took the lead into turn 1 as 109 Stuart Biddle taking 2 nd from 38 Gavin Busby.   53 Robson made a good start from yellow and by lap 2 he passed Busby for 3 rd into turn 1.   A couple of laps later and Biddle took the lead from Adams, with Robson following him through as further back 155 Carl Lewis was making rapid progress through the field and by half way had already found himself up into 4 th . A fantastic 20 cars were in the pits for Swaffham’s Gold Roof weekender.   Amongst the ‘home’ entry were first appearances at the track this year for 116 John Smith and 206 Michael Lee.   Visiting interest came from Grimley Gold Roof 115 Ben Farebrother and a 10 strong raiding party from Standlake – with 508 Terry Butcher, 509 Jordan Butcher and 776 James Trigg all making their track debuts. With the grid drawn out of a hat, Heat 1 saw 776 Trigg and 206 Lee on pole.   Lee got the best start while further back 508 Terry Butcher tangled with 185 Jess Webb, leaving the pair stranded on turn 4.   A lap later and both 666 Sarah Rash and 874 Neil Moss joined the incident, bringing out the red flags for a complete restart. Lee again got away at the front on the restart, but from his 11 th place start 115 Farebrother was making his way through the field and with 5 laps to go was up into 2 nd only a few car lengths behind Lee.   It looked like the 206 car would h...

Despite holidays, car damage and a clashing Grimley meeting there were still 15 cars present for the 7 th meeting of the season, including a return for 57 Kev Cooper who was debuting a new car. All 15 made the track for heat 1 and saw 38 Gavin Busby get the lead into turn 1, although he was passed firstly by 109 Stuart Biddle as the cars exited turn 2 and then by 776 James Trigg on the back straight.   Further back 563 Keith Walding got by 82 Keith Richens, but 261 Roger Mountney had made the best start from blue and reeled in both 185 Jess Webb and 138 Kev Goldup.   A lap later Walding went underneath Mountney into turn 1 to take 6 th place as 623 Rob Dobie claimed 4 th from 521 Phil Trigg.
